Back in the late 1800’s men used to show amazing tests of strength using heavy objects and crude weights made by hand. Old school lifting is what it has been affectionately named. The power these men demonstrated is in understatement. However, their strength is even more appealing because this was performed at a time when steroids were not used to enhance the athlete or circus performer.
Natural bodybuilders and strength based men used kettlebells to show off these feats of strength. And one particular exercise that caught my attention was the lateral kettlebell hold.
It is a brutal test of shoulder strength. Your deltoids will be screaming within seconds of the lift. And the longer you hold the position the more your body will shake trying to stabilize the odd object weight.
The video below shows me holding kettlebells laterally for time.
